🍦 The Class of 2030 got the inside scoop on all things Metro!

Students spent the afternoon with Metro student leaders, enjoying ice cream and connecting as a community. At the same time families were in the library building their parent team and participating in team-building challenges. Shoutout to our spaghetti and marshmallow challenge winners, who took home a copy of our latest school-wide read—readers make leaders!

USTA New England provided Iota Chi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and King Robinson School students the opportunity to engage in a tennis clinic. Sorors and King Robinson staff became tennis coaches so that students could have the opportunity to learn to play tennis, while emphasizing healthy eating and exercise! Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity visited Mauro Sheridan School in honor of this month's theme, Opportunities Happen, So Stay Focused. Fraternity members met with Ms. Bosley's grade 6 students on the importance of staying focused on academics , life skills, respect, values, and achieving the best education. #NHPS

The Yale Glee Club New Haven High Schools Choral Festival will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Woolsey Hall, 500 College Street, New Haven.

Free, nutritious food will be available during the next School Break Groceries event on Saturday, April 11th from 10 AM - 12 PM! It was a special day for our third graders at Mauro Sheridan! We welcomed Scott Cranston, principal trombonist of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, who read Trombone Shorty and wowed students with a live demonstration. Moments like this spark curiosity, joy, and a deeper connection to music. #NHPS

Third marking period has been rich with career awareness opportunities for our career pathway students! 9th graders from BRADA and students in Metropolitan’s Digital Media & Technology Pathway were able to participate in the 3rd Annual Equity in the Media Fellowship at the University of New Haven.
